Hey counselors!

It’s October, and that means the 2027-28 FAFSA® is open. We know time is precious, so we created two resources that should make completing the FAFSA® faster and easier. Our FAFSA® Guide and FAFSA® Quick Start Sheet can help students and parents prepare so their FAFSA® experience is a smooth one.

Our FAFSA® quick start sheet provides:

  • When to file the FAFSA®
  • How to create a StudentAid.gov account
  • Which documents are needed—and which are no longer needed—thanks to recent FAFSA® changes

In addition, our FAFSA® Guide walks users through FAFSA® questions to help them answer correctly so they can maximize their financial aid for college.

Thanks, Sallie, but my students don’t need to complete the FAFSA® as soon as it’s available. True, but some aid is first-come, first-served, so it’s best to complete the FAFSA® as soon as possible. However, if you aren’t ready for these just yet, go ahead and open each resource, select the bookmark icon ⭐ next to the web address in your browser, and come back to it when you’re ready.
